2014 has revealing a prolific year regarding the updating on the Product Directives of the European Union, Standards and CE-Certifications

Publication of the new ATEX Directive (Potentially Explosive Atmospheres) |
The Directive 94/9/CE will be replaced with the Directive 2014/34/UE, published on the Official Journal of the European Union (GUUE) L96/309 on March 29th 2014, which will go into effect April 20th 2016.

ATEX Directive (Potentially Explosive Atmospheres) |
The Standards EN 13463-5:2011and EN 1127-2011 are enter into force on July 31st 2014. They respectively replace the editions of 2004 and 2007 (we remember here that the EN 13463-5:2011 is harmonized with the Directive ATEX 94/9/CE, while the Standard EN 1127-2011 is harmonized with the Machinery Directive).

EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERES |
The Standard EN 60079-0:2012 (first edition) will replace the edition of 2009 on April 02th 2015, while the publication EN 60079-0:2012/A11:2013 (first edition) will replace the preceding versions on October 07th 2016 (the indicated Standards are harmonized under the Machinery Directive).

Note also, that the guide to the Directive ATEX currently in force is the 4th edition of September 2012, updated on December 2013.

PED Directive (Pressure Equipment Directive) |
The consolidated Directive 97/23/CE will be replaced by the Directive 2014/68/UE published on the Official Journal of the European Union (GUUE) L189/164 of June 27th 2014; Article 1, Article 2 , points 1 to 14, the articles 3, 4, 5, 14, 15 and 16, Article 19 (1) and (2) and the Articles 44, 45, 46 shall apply from 19th July 2016.

Pressure vessels not exposed to flame: we indicate that the following Standards have been published in edition 2014

Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive |
The Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2004/108/CE, currently in force and published on the Official Journal of the European Union L 390/24 of December 31st 2004, will be replaced from the Directive 2014/30/UE on April 20th 2016, published on the GUUE L 96/79 on March 29th 2014.

LVD Directive – LOW VOLTAGE DIRECTIVE |
The Directive 2006/95/CE published on the GUUE L 374/13 on December 27th 2006 inherent the Low Tension, will be replaced by the Directive 2014/35/UE, published on the GUUE of the L 96/81 on March 29th 2014; the Article 1, the second paragraph of Article 3, the Article 5, the Article 13 paragraphs 2 and 3 and Annexes I, V and VI shall apply from 20th April 2016.

PPE Directive (Personal Protective Equipment) |
Looking forward for the imminent news concerning the Directive 89/686/CEE inherent the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) we inform you that the Standard EN 250:2014 has been published for the "Respiratory equipment - Open-circuit self-contained compressed air diving apparatus" which will replace the Standard EN250:2000/A1:2006 at a date to be determined yet.

Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE |
The Standard EN ISO 14119:2013 "Safety of machinery - Interlocking devices associated with guards - Principles for design and selection" already published on the GUUE C220/1 on July 11th 2014 (List of the harmonized Standards inherent the Machinery Directive) will replace the EN 1088:1995+A2:2008 as of April 30th, 2015.
